These Terms & Conditions explain how we operate and what you can expect when booking with Deroโs Moving Van. By making a booking, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Bookings & Quotes
1.1 Quotes
All quotes are based on the information provided at the time of enquiry.
Quotes may be adjusted if the job differs significantly from what was described (e.g. additional items, access issues, or different waste types).
Providing photos helps us give accurate and fixed pricing.
1.2 Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once a date, time, and price have been agreed.
We may request additional details before confirming to ensure the job can be completed safely and efficiently.
1.3 Arrival Times
We aim to arrive within the agreed time window.
Delays may occasionally occur due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances, but we will always keep you informed.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
2.1 Cancellations
Cancellations with reasonable notice are free of charge.
Last-minute cancellations may incur a fee if time has been allocated or travel has already begun.
2.2 Rescheduling
We are flexible and will do our best to accommodate changes.
All rescheduling is subject to availability.
3. Waste Removal Terms
3.1 Accepted Waste
We collect a wide range of non-hazardous waste, including:
Household waste
Furniture
Garden waste
Office waste
End of tenancy rubbish
Mixed loads
3.2 Restricted Items
We do not remove hazardous or prohibited materials, including:
Chemicals, asbestos, or medical waste
Paint, fuel, or solvents
Gas cylinders
Large quantities of soil, rubble, or construction waste (unless agreed in advance)
3.3 Recycling & Disposal
We prioritise reuse, recycling, and responsible disposal.
Items in good condition may be donated to local charities. Landfill is always a last resort.
Disposal costs are included in your quote unless otherwise stated.
4. Small Moves Terms
4.1 Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
Ensuring items are packed securely (unless packing is requested)
Clearly labelling fragile items
Providing safe and accessible entry (stairs, hallways, parking)
4.2 Heavy or Specialist Items
You must inform us in advance about heavy or unusual items (e.g. pianos, safes).
Additional charges may apply depending on weight, access, or handling requirements.
4.3 Liability & Damage
We take great care when handling your belongings and are insured for accidental damage caused during transport.
However, we are not liable for:
Pre-existing damage
Poorly packed items
Undisclosed items
Damage caused by unsafe or restricted access
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Payment Methods

Bank transfer
Cash
Mobile payments (where available)
5.2 Payment Timing
Payment is due upon completion of the job unless agreed otherwise in advance.
Deposits may be required for larger bookings.
6. Access & Parking
6.1 Customer Responsibility
Customers must ensure suitable parking and access are available at both collection and delivery locations.
Any additional costs (e.g. parking fees, fines, or delays) due to restricted access may be added to the final bill.
7. Safety & Conduct

We reserve the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe, including:
Hazardous environments
Dangerous or prohibited items
Unsafe lifting conditions
Aggressive or abusive behaviour
7.2 Professional Conduct
We treat all customers with respect and expect the same in return.
8. Photos & Documentation
8.1 Job Records
We may take before-and-after photos for:
Proof of completed work
Internal records
Recycling documentation
Photos will never be used publicly without your permission.
